Anyway, the photos begin with my cousins Will, Hannah and Charlie and Aunty Betsy who looked after me the weekend before Lisa flew in, they´re pictured as the sun set over the pacific just west of San Francisco. It was good to stop for a few days in a comfortable home with good real food and warm company.
Lisa arrived and all was well with the Universe. A day or two later we flew to Cancun on a cheap flight, stayed in a neat hostel near the bus stop, gaulked at the monstrosoties along the beach and headed south to Tullum - where the ruins by the beach photos were taken.
A few tacos later we arrived at the Belizian border and were met by the English language, hefty price tags and a different way of life. As wiser travelers often tell us ´What a difference a border makes´.
It was pretty cruzy for the next week and a half, a day or two in Corozal, just south of the border, we both barely left our hammocks then on to Caye Caulker in the Carribean where we got very comfortable in the fifth floor of a tower with a mattress, hammock, and a fan as well as 360 views over the water.
A bit of lobster, a couple of Mayan ruins and a few sunsets later it was time to go west towards Guatemala, where we are now enjoying a much cheaper cost of living but with the added challenge of Espanol...
